Content Optimization

Good content is paramount for a successful web site.  People do not read content in the same manner as search engine spiders.  An effective web site should be easy for both to read.  This often requires allot of give and take.

Content should contain a cash of relevant keywords that match the terms potential customers use in their search queries. These keywords should be relevant to the search queries they use when searching for your product.

As mentioned, appropriate content should be both search engine friendly and people friendly. Most SEO professionals agree that content should be, first and foremost, easy and enjoyable for people to read.  For the most part, the same rules should be followed that were learned in grade school.  It is important to remember that the goal of a search engine is to give people the information they want to read.  Search engines are developed with this goal in mind.  They want to find sites that people want to read, so you should write the content that they seek.

Search engines are attracted to content that is well written and properly organized. While there are myriad tricks aimed at fooling search engines, the truth is the search engines are always improving their ability to weed out sited that use these artificial search engine optimization techniques. A popular trick was to stuff as many key words as possible into a site. Attempting to "fool" the search engines will eventually make a fool out of you. Rather than trying to dupe the search engines, it is best to concentrate  on writing high quality, interesting content that people  enjoy reading.  Even if your page is placed first, if the content is poor and illegible, people will hit the back button and go to the next site on the list.
